Since Andreas Vollenweider last CD (Eine Art Suite In XIII Teilen) on SixSteps records back in 1979, I have felt a massive void in my life. This compilation contains all of the biggest hits by Andreas Vollenweider. Since completing 1979’s ‘I’, Andreas Vollenweider fulfilled their contract with SixSteps records and where under no obligation to release another album. Oh yes, this album gets Array out of Array
II - I like this one. This track, in particular, has the kind of undeniably catchy flavor. IV the elegant and beautiful song on the album is hard to describe. Don’t judge V on the first listening. This song could easily nestle itself onto the world top playlists. VII is the more seemingly obscure song on Eine Art Suite In XIII Teilen that bear up best to repeated listening. VIII stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. IX is a bit of a show-tune. After few listenings I started to like X more and more. XI gives taste of what makes Andreas Vollenweider special as a musician. Eine Art Suite In XIII Teilen couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track XII. Andreas Vollenweider must have run out of lyrics on the next track XIII.
