Since completing 1928’s ‘A Jazz Holiday (1928)’, Benny Goodman fulfilled their contract with ForeFront Records and where under no obligation to release another album. sixteen years ago, Benny Goodman briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Aaron Copland - Clarinet Concerto”. ‘Benny Goodman’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. A Jazz Holiday (1928) and Aaron Copland - Clarinet Concerto is really good.
Benny Goodman is one of artists that allow his songs like Aaron Copland - Clarinet Concerto to stand on their own and be heard. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. April in Paris is new, fresh, and hypnotizing. Musically Bach Goes To Town(1938) is superior to other tracks in Benny Goodman. Back Beat Boogie - a classic song. Benny Goodman with Helen Forrest I’m Always Chasing Rainbows has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Benny Goodman’s strong vocals come to the fore. Big Band Sounds - (Themes Of Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Benny Goodman as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. China boy with Jack Teagarden is probably the most interesting track on Benny Goodman. Dream A Little Dream Of Me is probably one of Benny Goodman’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. Awesome song is really all that you can say about it. So much energy, so exciting a sound.Flying Home defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. From the sound of it, I believe the song can be a big radio hit. I have all of Benny Goodman’s tracks and Goodbye Benny Goodman is probably the most his introspective effort. It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song. His Orchestra with Harry James Sugar Foot Stomp is cool work of Benny Goodman. Jumpin’ At The Woodside sets the tone for the entire album. Simply the finest work ever from this multi-talented singer. Little Brown Jug is a bit of a show-tune. Mambo Swing is really a nice song to relax and listen too. In Medley it becomes nowhere more obvious that Benny Goodman has yet to define own style. Memories Of You (3:37) a good melody. Moonlight serenade is one of the coolest songs Benny Goodman has ever recorded. This track makes my mind whirl and vibrate with flowing energy. Oh Yes, Take Another Guess Benny Goodman & His Orchestra has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album. One O’Clock Jump 1 is nothing but pure genius. What sets Rhapsody In Blue apart is Benny Goodman’s innovative and organic way of creating atmospheres. I like the idea behind Satin Doll. Send In The Clowns is possibly the most mysterious and inexplicable track Benny Goodman ever produced. Music in Serenade In Blue is perfect as in all tracks of Benny Goodman. Still going through Benny Goodman and coming to appreciate Sony Music 100 Years more and more with every listen. St. Louis Blues 2 I just LOVE this mix! St. Louis blues 1 - Check out that bassline! Benny Goodman has created something that grabs you by the heart and gets you moving. Sweet Georgia Brown is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined. Swing Sax is a bit different from Benny Goodman stereotypical stuff. This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing. From the moment you listen to Take The A Train you’re hooked. Vocals of Benny Goodman in Texas Tea Party with Jack Teagarden really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm. This is one of those songs that musicians strive to write and create. Time-Life Swing Era - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody. Wang Wang Blues is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day. I was truly moved when I heard You Must Meet My Wife. Music and lyrics of lawrence welk creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming.
