Since Benny Goodman last CD (Happy Session) on SixSteps records back in 1959, I have felt a massive void in my life. On Happy Session album, Benny Goodman have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Benny Goodman’s album Happy Session falls to No. 2 with 143,000, a sales slide of 90%. If I may, I suggest “Batunga Train”. That one song is amazing!
Diga Diga Doo is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. Happy Session Blues is beautiful, yet underrated track. I love the melodic melody of Having A Ball and to this day it makes me feel good. This track, in particular, has the kind of undeniably catchy flavor. King And Me without a doubt is the standout song of Happy Session. Macedonia Lullaby gives good insight into the truths. I like What A Diff’rence A Day Made because it’s extremely catchy and has awesome drumming. Benny Goodman offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself.
