Past Perfect CD7, Don’t Be That Way is an amazing album, racked with beauty. This album has some very good songs like Camel Hop and Can’t Teach My Old Heart New Tricks. Lead single “Camel Hop” and “Can’t Teach My Old Heart New Tricks” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. If you love Benny Goodman as much as I do, then Benny Goodman Past Perfect CD7, Don’t Be That Way is the CD for you!
First time I heard Can’t Teach My Old Heart New Tricks was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing. This track is just fantastic from start to finish. I’m Like A Fish Out of Water is the albums lead single as well as biggest hit. I’ve Hitched My Wagon to a Star - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. If Dreams Come True gets you up and jumping. I like the idea behind It’s Wonderful. No Benny Goodman song has come close to capturing my attention as Let That Be A Lesson to You did. Life Goes To A Party 1 is probably the most interesting track on Past Perfect CD7, Don’t Be That Way. Life Goes to a Party 2 has a fun tempo. Best song on the album, love it. In Mama, That Moon Is Here Again the music gets its power. Minnie the Moocher’s Wedding Day is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. Benny Goodman must have run out of lyrics on the next track One O’Clock Jump. The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music. Popcorn Man is possibly the most mysterious and inexplicable track Benny Goodman ever produced. Sweet Stranger very upbeat. Thanks for the Memory is a song to enjoy for years to come. True Confession motivates you to get up and do something to improve your life and the life of others. This song stands out greatly from the others.
