This is the first studio album from Molly Hatchet since bad diagnosis in 1978. Molly Hatchet’s debut, ‘Molly Hatchet’, does not fit easily into one genre. While no new Molly Hatchet album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1978 tour in Australia. Molly Hatchet constantly brilliant.
The opening track Gator Country is very much like you would expect from other albums. Big Apple is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. The Creeper the elegant and beautiful song on the album is hard to describe. The Price You Pay defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. Within the first few notes of Dreams I’ll Never See it’s perfectly clear that Molly Hatchet is living this song. I’ll Be Running is one of the most beautiful songs ever to grace my stereo. From the moment you listen to Cheatin Woman you’re hooked. I have all of Molly Hatchet’s tracks and Trust Your Old Friend is probably the most his introspective effort.
