This album has some very good songs like Tuesday Morning and Smell Of Petroleum. ‘Waiting for Herb’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. Waiting for Herb carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. Waiting for Herb is the best essence of The Pogues.
This track is a fabulous selection of easy listening, suitable for any age, taste or occasion. Haunting is a bit different from The Pogues stereotypical stuff. Once Upon A Time is really the reason why I recommend buying Waiting for Herb. Sitting On Top Of The World is so unique, as each one of the songs is. Drunken Boat - another great track from the Waiting for Herb album. Put Big City into car stereo for your highway driving Girl From The Wadi Hammamut as a highlight of Waiting for Herb contains a ton of amazing melodies. Simple and heartfelt closing track Modern World closes Waiting for Herb on a high note. Although Pachinko is very melodic it is far from sad. My Baby’s Gone is one of the best records ever. The Pogues breathes new life into the music in Small Hours.
