one years ago, Various Artists briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Sichuan Red / Passage To China”. Now signed to Various Artists’s Sparrow Records, the title track from second album “Chinese Ambience” leads Various Artists’s back-to-school campaign. This album has some very good songs like Sichuan Red / Light Of The Morning and Sichuan Red / Passage To China. Enjoy the show.
I like Sichuan Red / Passage To China because it’s extremely catchy and has awesome drumming. Xenophontos, Alex / Xijang is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined. Sichuan Red / Sichuan Red - Okay, I just talked about depth. Sichuan Red / The Water Margin - arguably the best track on Chinese Ambience album. The song feels complete. Sichuan Red / Xian pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. Listening to Sichuan Red / Tienjing you can hear that Various Artists has still amazing chemistry with band members. I like to sing along with Xenophontos, Alex / Year Of The Dragon, though I mess up the lyrics sometimes. Sichuan Red / The Water Margin (Reprise) is the song that really did it for me.
