seven years ago, Various Artists briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “With arms wide open (Creed)”. This compilation contains all of the biggest hits by Various Artists. This disc has all of the essential Various Artists classics. Smart music for smart people.
With arms wide open (Creed) actually sounds so joyous, that you can practically see a smile on Various Artists’s face. I can’t move (Everlast) good vocals. Easy (Faith no more) is a medium tempo tune. Take a picture (Filter) is pretty funky and mellow. |titile| is a sure sign of something most of us are experiencing, maturity. You have to get essence of the Drive (Incubus)’s power, to truly understand this masterpiece. Some of the arrangements found on Clawfinger - MTV Alterzone are surprisingly edgy. I loved Protection (Massive Attack) the first time I heard it. I can’t stop humming along Fear and love (Morcheeba). Opening track Angelene (P.J. Harvey) shows the best of Various Artists. Some call Berger queen (Placedo) from Clawfinger - MTV Alterzone as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. Glory box (Protishead) is a striking and quite long song. A great put together song. Karma police (Radiohead) is one of the best records ever. This song is dynamic and dramatic. Although Secretly (Skunk Anansie) is very melodic it is far from sad. After you’ve listened to Mr.Writer (Stereophonics), most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate.
