This is the first studio album from Various Artists since bad diagnosis in 0. ‘Club Sounds Vol.11 (cd2)’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. After seeing Everything I Play (Lost’N'Alive), I had to have a good Various Artists cd. Club Sounds Vol.11 (cd2) is the best essence of Various Artists.
Shake Your Bum (Club Radio Edit) (Ouriel Clark) - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. It took me a little time but I ended up loving Big Bad City (Radio Edit) (Jerk Work). Cold Wait (Edit) (Ian Pooley) is a bit different from Various Artists stereotypical stuff. Get Club Sounds Vol.11 (cd2) and turn on …Is Calling! (Radio Edit) (SM-Trax) if you are going to sip your wine late at night. This track is a killer, it just grabs you instantly. Funky People (Radio Edit) (Blaze) is a fine track on any terms. I hope to keep hearing Various Artists works for a long time to come. It’s so catchy, it’s amazing. A fantastic track full of wonder. Voice and instruments in Turn Around (Radio Edit) (Phats & Small) complement each other. Red Alert (Jaxx Radio Mix) (Basement Jaxx) is the albums biggest surprise. The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music. This track is nearly perfect if not perfect. OTB (On The Beach) (Milk & Sugar Radio Version) (York) great lyrics, dark, deep, angry and cool.Album opener Responsible (Gardeweg Club Mix) (Spike) is a bright, upbeat ditty. I find myself hearing bits of Sing It Back (Herbert’s Tasteful Dub) (Moloko) here and there throughout my waking hours. I Never Knew (Boris & Michi’s Dub Attack) (Roger Sanchez Feat. Cooly’s Hot Box) is pretty funky and mellow. September ‘99 (Radio Edit) (Earth, Wind & Fire) is possibly the best song Various Artists has come up.
