This compilation contains all of the biggest hits by Various Artists. There is so much to love about Various Artists, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. Various Artists’s debut, ‘Dublin To Dakar - A Celtic Odyssey’, does not fit easily into one genre. I wish that “Dublin To Dakar - A Celtic Odyssey” album was instrumental.
I like the agression and power of Brigit Boden (Ireland) - One Glimpse Of You. Modern City Ramblers (Italy) - Canzone Dalla Fine Del Mon (3:51) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. This is probably my favorite song on the album. This track, in particular, has the kind of undeniably catchy flavor. Minogue, Aine (Ireland) - O Boro Braindi Braindi as a highlight of Dublin To Dakar - A Celtic Odyssey contains a ton of amazing melodies. Capercaillie with Sibeba (Scottland-Guinea) - Co Ni Mire - a classic song. Na Lua (Spain) - Os Tempos Son Chegados defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. Lyrics of Kila (Ireland) - Rusty Nails are precise and evocative. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. Various Artists allows each song to breathe and flourish.
