This is the first studio album from Various Artists since bad diagnosis in 1967. Various Artists had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. Self-described as Pop with lots of words, Various Artists comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. If you want to hear real Pop, get this record now!
This track is nearly perfect if not perfect. I like the idea behind Claudio Villa - Non pensare a me(1967-1). Les Surfs - Quando dico che ti amo(1967-2) is astounding. Various Artists must have run out of lyrics on the next track I Giganti - Proposta(1967-3). This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing. It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: Orietta Berti - Io tu e le rose(1967-5), which shows, blatantly, how much Various Artists has evolved as a singer. The Rokes - Bisogna saper perdere(1967-6) as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. Sergio Endrigo - Dove credi di andare (1967-7) gives taste of what makes Various Artists special as a musician. Antoine - Pietre(1967-8) - A classic Various Artists track. Connie Francis - Canta ragazzina(1967-F) - This one makes me want to not only sing along. Once Los Bravos - Uno come noi(1967-F) gets in your head, it will NEVER leave. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Various Artists. uigi Tenco - Ciao amore, ciao(1967-) is a song that takes you on the journey before it reaches the conclusion. 1PSergio Endrigo - Canzone per te(1968-1) is, without a doubt, my favorite song, ever. 1Roberto Carlos - Canzone per te(1968-1) - a classic song. 2Marisa Sannia - Casa bianca(1968-2) - is a breath or fresh air compared to many previous songs of Various Artists. 3Adriano Celentano - Canzone(1968-3) - This one is what it is: a powerful, primal invitation to love. I now have 4Fausto Leali - Deborah (1968-4) as one of my personal favorites. The opening track 5Antoine - La tramontana(1968-5) is very much like you would expect from other albums.
