Self-described as Pop with lots of words, Various Artists comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. There were many famous songs of Various Artists available. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Various Artists on ‘Co-dependent (Adema)’. gob - NHL04 is the best essence of Various Artists.
SS-Recognize (Aliens ant Farm) has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Various Artists’s strong vocals come to the fore. Radio#2 (Ataris) is the albums biggest surprise. This is the most melodic ambitious and satisfying track in gob - NHL04. Chapter four (Avenged Sevenfold) - Check out that bassline! Listening to Punk Rock 101 (Bowling and Soup) you can hear that Various Artists has still amazing chemistry with band members. The sound of The quet things that no one ever knows (Brand New) is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. Music of Minerva (Deftones) is gentle, never overbearing. In Oh! Ellin (Gob) full palet of sound is used by Various Artists to accentuate the presentation. This song stands out greatly from the others. In Get what you need (Jet) the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. Down (Mesh STL) is the song that really did it for me. The song feels complete. Stopgame2 (NHL04) very upbeat.
