Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Various Artists on ‘Arkansas Traveler’. It’s natural for Various Artists to take a stab at ‘Arkansas Traveler’ considering her long-professed love for Universal Soul. ‘Hank Snow - Best’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. This is what good Pop should be.
You have to get essence of the Wabash Cannonball’s power, to truly understand this masterpiece. Six Days On The Road is the albums lead single as well as biggest hit. Strong, powerful vocals of Various Artists in Conscience I’m Guilty are very impressive. The song Miller’s Cave ending is my favorite… so catchy! Put I Don’t Hurt Anymore into car stereo for your highway driving Orange Blossom Special is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. There’s The Chair is pretty funky and mellow. Various Artists emotions are reflected through A Daisy A Day. The Boogie Woogie Flying Cloud was the first single release from the album Hank Snow - Best. Various Artists offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself. Various Artists must have run out of lyrics on the next track You Are My Sunshine. This is one of those songs that musicians strive to write and create. The Wishing Well is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined. The Answer To That Silver Haired Daddy Of Mine to me is the best you can get from Various Artists. I’ve Been Everywhere is one of the coolest songs Various Artists has ever recorded. Yellow Roses is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. Ninety Miles An Hour is almost impossible to review. Your Brand On My Heart has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album.
