On Hyper Frequencies - Mechanik Castle album, Various Artists have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. For older fans Hyper Frequencies - Mechanik Castle will put a massive smile accross your face. It has been fifteen years Various Artists’ last studio CD, “Hyper Frequencies - Mechanik Castle” which won Array Grammy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. Hyper Frequencies - Mechanik Castle is preety good and all the songs have a good meaning behind them.
After few listenings I started to like MechaniKastle (Chromatix) more and more. Cosmic Debris (Hyper Frequencies) is the marvelous blend of moody yet optimistic tunes. Route 666 (Hyper Frequencies) is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot. Perception D’Ireality (Los Diablos) is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything Various Artists released so far. This is one hell of a track. Excellent vocals and musical performances. Various Artists is hitting on all cylinders in Laly the Cyclone (NeuroMotor). I now have Spasmodic Disorder (Phatmatix) as one of my personal favorites.
