Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Various Artists on ‘Looking For The Perfect Beat (Afrika Bambaataa and Soulsonic Force)’. This disc has all of the essential Various Artists classics. Self-described as Pop with lots of words, Various Artists comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. Check it every song is worth the money for the Man Parrish - Electro Science CD1 CD!
One listen to the sheer beauty of Clear (Cybotron) was all I needed. This song is dynamic and dramatic. In Play That Beat Mr DJ (G.L.O.B.E. and Whiz Kid) full palet of sound is used by Various Artists to accentuate the presentation. Various Artists emotions are reflected through The Adventues Of Grand Master Flash On The Wheels Of Steel (Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five). Nice and different song. I find myself hearing bits of Boogie Down Bronx (Man Parrish) here and there throughout my waking hours. This is one hell of a track. Jam On It (Newcleus) - Okay, I just talked about depth. Listening to Play At Your Own Risk (Planet Patrol) you can hear that Various Artists has still amazing chemistry with band members. Walking On Sunshine (Rockers Revenge) (3:34) - awsome. Some of the arrangements found on Man Parrish - Electro Science CD1 are surprisingly edgy. Various Artists offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself. Once Break Dance Electric Boogie (West Street Mob) gets in your head, it will NEVER leave.
