This -song debut EP shows the promise that Various Artists has. On the Malta charts, superstar Various Artists’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. ‘Massive Attack - MTV Alterzone’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. Massive Attack - MTV Alterzone is preety good and all the songs have a good meaning behind them.
This track is just a stunning masterpiece. If you are a Various Artists fan, you will love I can’t move (Everlast). Easy (Faith no more) one of the best in my collection. Take a picture (Filter) is the funkiest number on the album. Gone with the sin (HIM) is the astounding blend of moody yet optimistic tunes. Drive (Incubus) is a song to savor, to listen to from every angle. Run to the water (Live) (4:26) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. Best song on the album, love it. Song Fear and love (Morcheeba) is actually a funny song. From the moment you listen to Angelene (P.J. Harvey) you’re hooked. I like to sing along with Berger queen (Placedo), though I mess up the lyrics sometimes. Glory box (Protishead) is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. Nightswimming (R.E.M.) is the albums biggest surprise. The opening track Karma police (Radiohead) is very much like you would expect from other albums. Ana’s song (Silverchair) as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. Secretly (Skunk Anansie) is worth the money. Various Artists sings Mr.Writer (Stereophonics) in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved.
