This fourteen-song debut EP shows the promise that Various Artists has. Now signed to Various Artists’s SixSteps records, the title track from second album “Masterpieces Ethnic Music - Korea” leads Various Artists’s back-to-school campaign. There is so much to love about Various Artists, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. Exciting stuff.
Jindo Arirang - My least favorite song on this album. Suriongum is worth the money. Sai tarion - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. Komunego Obasanjo is outstanding work of Various Artists. After about the third Yucheosndzhigok listen through, I began to believe this song is Various Artists’s essence. Mulleya tariong - arguably the best track on Masterpieces Ethnic Music - Korea album. Sangiongsan pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. Namvong Sansong is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. Taechvita is a very catchy tune. The sound in Kannagan sulea is really warm and Various Artists’s signature voice is still very much present. Kadoorie tariong is just simply stunning. Adzhaeng Obasanjo is one of these floating songs.
