Stanley Donwood has compared writing for Various Artists’s new album to that on ‘Moods of the day AFTERNOON RAGAS’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. Lead single “SHUDDHA SARANG (Ram Narayan)” and “MADHUVANTI (Brij Narayan)” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. It has been eleven years Various Artists’ last studio CD, “Moods of the day AFTERNOON RAGAS” which won Array Emmy� Awards and was nominated for album of the year. Exciting stuff.
MADHUVANTI (Brij Narayan) is one of my favorite songs by Various Artists. BHIMPALASHI (Brij Narayan) is possibly the best song Various Artists has come up.
