Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Various Artists on ‘Philip Riley - Romany Child’. Various Artists’s debut, ‘New Age Music - New Sounds Vol. 4′, does not fit easily into one genre. When you buy a Various Artists album, you know exactly what you’re getting! This is one of the best cd’s i have heard through the whole thing.
Mysia - T.R.E. which is my favorite is a truly Various Artists sounding song. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on New Age Music - New Sounds Vol. 4 is Lederwaldt - The Call. Mysia - Nova is another strong production from Various Artists. Various Artists breathes new life into the music in Lutte Berg - Morning Sun. When I listen to Deborah Henson-Connant - Budapest in my car when traffic ain’t going so good. Music and lyrics of Jermano - Avenida Toledo creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. Doug Smith - When The Walls Fell has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. Steve Kindler & Teja Bell - Windsurfer is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through New Age Music - New Sounds Vol. 4. Michel Sanchez - Tholos is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. Simply the finest work ever from this multi-talented singer. Doug Cameron - Spellbound is possibly the most mysterious and inexplicable track Various Artists ever produced. Various Artists has created something that grabs you by the heart and gets you moving. The sound of Dido - Across The View is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created.
