This thirteen-song debut EP shows the promise that Various Artists has. On Nuits Atypiges album, Various Artists have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. Nuits Atypiges isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. If I may, I suggest “Les papets les minots… (Massilia Sound Sistem)”. That one song is amazing!
Charming song, great melody. Awesome song is really all that you can say about it. Castellano (La Familia Valera iranda) is another favourite of mine. Por el Suelo (Manu Chao) - This is a very lively song. I can’t stop humming along Iag Bari (Ciocarlia). Khiyanat Mariha (Sanir Joubran) - I just love it. Banm kalou banm (Rene Lacaille Daniel Waro) is a cool song and it grows on you. Ramano be galona (Feo~Gasi) is gorgeous work of Various Artists. I was truly moved when I heard Ceisha Djan (Trio Chemirani). Oshe Cherde (Huun~Huur~Tu) pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. The first time I listened to Sida Bana (Djiguia) I was struck by its astounding sound.
