This is the first studio album from Various Artists since bad diagnosis in 0. Prayers And Dances isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. After seeing Prayer wheels, Kopan Monastery, I had to have a good Various Artists cd. It is very deep stuff - very exciting
Overall a nice softer song. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Various Artists. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Tips Mandala (full). Morning prayer 1 is one of those songs that will put you in a good mood. This track is clearly meant to showcase Various Artists’s vocal abilities. Evening Prayer 2 is, without a doubt, my favorite song, ever. Dance 2 - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. Drilling of 35 Buddhas presents the cool mix of instruments on Prayers And Dances. In Puja in zdravie Dalai Lama, Episode 1 Various Artists is at his best. Morning prayer 2 is a very catchy tune. The Great Stupa of 5-30 am - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. Evening Prayer 3 defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. Dance 2 is a marvelous, simple song by Various Artists at the top of his game. This track is a fabulous selection of easy listening, suitable for any age, taste or occasion. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. Excellent vocals and musical performances. Some of the arrangements found on Prayers And Dances are surprisingly edgy. Dance 5 is pretty funky and mellow. Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think Tips Mandala (short) is my favorite song on Prayers And Dances. Morning prayer 3 is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song. Mahakala Puja, Episode 2 is a pleasing, and full of overall coherence that goes beyond other creations. I like the agression and power of Prayer Wheels for the Great Stupa. Vadzhrasattva Mantra is a good listen every once in a while. Best song on the album, love it. Great Stupa at 6:00 am have really caught my ear and imagination. Mahakala Puja, Episode 3 without a doubt is the standout song of Prayers And Dances. |titile| is a sure sign of something most of us are experiencing, maturity. It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song.
