Various Artists’s debut, ‘Robert Ford - BBC - Where Blue begins - Jam 1′, does not fit easily into one genre. This is one of the best Cd’s Various Artists has dropped to date. Robert Ford - BBC - Where Blue begins - Jam 1 isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. I love this album so much, i’ve been crazy about Various Artists ever.
Blew our minds when we first heard The thrill is gone (B.B.King). Charming song, great melody. Music of Nobody knows you (Bessie Smith) is gentle, never overbearing. Tabacco road (Bill Wayman) is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day. Where blue begins (Danna Gillespie) (4:34) a good melody. I’d rather go blind (Etta James) have really caught my ear and imagination. I think Help (Isaac Scot) is the best song Various Artists has ever done. It’s man’s, man’s, man’s, world (James Brown) is a medium tempo tune. Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think Chill Out (John Lee Hooker) is my favorite song on Robert Ford - BBC - Where Blue begins - Jam 1. Use me (Junior Wells) is probably the highlight of the album. Vocals of Various Artists in Both ends of the road (Long John Hunter) really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm. Lightning bolt (Luther Allison) the elegant and beautiful song on the album is hard to describe. Get Robert Ford - BBC - Where Blue begins - Jam 1 and turn on I can’t stand the rain (Robert Ford) if you are going to sip your wine late at night. Flash chordin (Roy Buchanan) - My least favorite song on this album.
