Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Various Artists on ‘Deep Lough (Egan Flannery)’. ten years ago, Various Artists briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Heart of Kilmacud (Finnigan)”. Various Artists was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Various Artists and Rose Kavanagh - Enigma Lounge, vol. 3 together. Another great offering from Various Artists.
Heart of Kilmacud (Finnigan) is simply exquisite. Into the golden vale (Finnigan) - This one is what it is: a powerful, primal invitation to love. Fairy Land (Irial) - Check out that bassline! Hadrian’s Tale (Jim Doran) is one of the coolest songs Various Artists has ever recorded. Various Artists sings Swans (Kenny O’Brogain) in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing. This is one of those songs that musicians strive to write and create. One listen to the sheer beauty of Meander (Maura Keane) was all I needed. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. This song could easily nestle itself onto the world top playlists. Spirit of Killiney (Rose Kavanagh) is the first taste of the new album. I’ve found myself listening to Shannon (Ross Leary) back to back and back many times. There is cool mix of music in Dwellers od ailwee (Sharon O’Toole).
