After debuting at No. 1 last week, Various Artists’s album Sanremo 1955 falls to No. 2 with 699,000, a sales slide of 68%. ‘Sanremo 1955′ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. Various Artists’s debut, ‘Sanremo 1955′, does not fit easily into one genre. If I may, I suggest “Canto nella valle (Nuccia Bongiovanni con Bruno Pallesi e con Radio Boys)”. That one song is amazing!
Some call Buongiorno tristezza (Claudio Villa) from Sanremo 1955 as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. First time I heard Buongiorno Tristezza (Tullio Pane) was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing.A unique and uplifting song. Ci ciu ci (cantava Un Usignol) (Narciso Parigi con Radio Boys) is new, fresh, and hypnotizing. Ci ciu ci (cantava un usignol) (Natalino Otto con Trio Aurora) is a striking and quite long song. Era Un Omino (Piccino Piccino) (Clara Jaione con Radio Boys) which is my favorite is a truly Various Artists sounding song. I think Era un omino (piccino piccino) (Nella Colombo, Bruno Rosettani & Trio Aurora) is the best song Various Artists has ever done. Simple and heartfelt closing track I tre timidi (Nuccia Bongiovanni e Radio Boys) closes Sanremo 1955 on a high note. Il primo viaggio (Nuccia Bongiovanni e Bruno Pallesi) is one of these floating songs. Lyrics of Il torrente (Claudio Villa) are precise and evocative. Il torrente (Tullio Pane) is one of the most beautiful songs ever to grace my stereo. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Various Artists. Various Artists is one of artists that allow his songs like Incantatella (Narciso Parigi) to stand on their own and be heard. L’ombra (Marisa Colomber) can be hardly overrated by any means; this is what Various Artists is all about. Un cuore (Gianni Ravera) defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. Una fotografia nella cornice (Antonio Basurto) is a great opener for Sanremo 1955. You can find feelings on this piece of art. Zucchero e pepe (Bruno Rosettani con Trio Aurora) stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. |titile| is quite refreshing and sets the tone for what is going on in Sanremo 1955.
