Now signed to Various Artists’s Blue Note Records, the title track from second album “The Womexmizer 02″ leads Various Artists’s back-to-school campaign. This -song debut EP shows the promise that Various Artists has. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Various Artists’s album The Womexmizer 02 falls to No. 2 with 794,000, a sales slide of 75%. I love this album so much, i’ve been crazy about Various Artists ever.
Povo (Mestre Ambrosio) - To me, this is the best song on the The Womexmizer 02. Domin ki kone (Rene Lacaille) is almost impossible to review. O gente da minha terra (Mariza) - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. Mariama (Pape & Cheikh) is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit. Maimouna (Kasse Mady Diabate) is a fine track on any terms. Charming song, great melody. This track is a great song that still never gets old. Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think Riposti (Timo Vaananen) is my favorite song on The Womexmizer 02. Music and lyrics of E Pa (Wai) creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. Po Drom (Anima Sound System) is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined. Aj Bhgangra Punjabia na Pauna (Achanak) I just LOVE this mix! Don’t judge 7 Brothers (Oi Va Voi) on the first listening. Begin for Julia (Boris Kovac & Ladaaba Orchest) one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. Efa olo be (Regis Gizavo) is a song that will not reduce you to tears but leave you thinking long after The Womexmizer 02 have ended. Shouffi Rhirou (Najat Aatabou) gives good insight into the truths. Mezulzelet (Habanera Hativeet) to me is the best you can get from Various Artists. Kele Lao (Jivan Gasparyan) - arguably the best track on The Womexmizer 02 album.
