After debuting at No. 1 last week, Various Artists’s album Tutto Sanremo - 1984-1989 falls to No. 2 with 299,000, a sales slide of 69%. This is the first studio album from Various Artists since bad diagnosis in 0. Since Various Artists last CD (Tutto Sanremo - 1984-1989) on Blue Note Records back in 0, I have felt a massive void in my life. Tutto Sanremo - 1984-1989 constantly brilliant.
Cara (Christian) gives taste of what makes Various Artists special as a musician. Il cuore delle donne (Dori Ghezzi) is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. Tutto Sanremo - 1984-1989 couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Vorrei svegliarti (Eugenio Finardi). Io amo (Fausto Leali) is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. Nella valle dei Timbales (Figli di Bubba) is a song to enjoy for years to come. Una bella canzone (Flavia Fortunato) - My least favorite song on this album. Anni ruggenti (Gruppo Italiano) is another favourite of mine. Lei verra (Mango) is one of the best records ever. This track is a great song that still never gets old. This song could easily nestle itself onto the world top playlists. This song stands out greatly from the others. Almeno tu nell’universo (Mia Martini) - Various Artists first major hit. As always, Various Artists’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. Overall a nice softer song. Faccia di cane (New Trolls) actually sounds so joyous, that you can practically see a smile on Various Artists’s face. In Brividi (Rossana Casale) Various Artists spins a tale you want to hear to the end. La notte dei pensieri (Zarrillo) is a bit of a show-tune.
