Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Chico Buarque on ‘Progo’. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Chico Buarque’s album Chico canta falls to No. 2 with 603,000, a sales slide of 99%. Lead single “Progo” and “Cala a Boca, Bbara” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. If you want to hear real Latin, get this record now!
Cala a Boca, Bbara is one of the most beautiful songs ever to grace my stereo. Tatuagem is the best music that I have heard from anyone in any area of music. Ana de Amsterdam is so unique, as each one of the songs is. I find myself hearing bits of Bbara here and there throughout my waking hours. No Existe Pecado ao Sul do Equador / Boi Voador No Pode - This one is lively and fun. Fado Tropical is the album’s biggest hit, I think. Tira as Mos de Mim is, without a doubt, my favorite song, ever. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on Chico canta. |titile| is the kind of record that makes you remember why music can be so addictive. Fortaleza is a cool song and it grows on you.
