‘The Return of the Magnificent’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. There is no doubt that DJ Jazzy Jeff has talent. Self-described as Rap: Hip-Hop with lots of words, DJ Jazzy Jeff comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. The Return of the Magnificent is preety good and all the songs have a good meaning behind them.
In Let Me Hear U Clap feat. Pos of De La Soul DJ Jazzy Jeff is at his best. The sound in Run That Back feat. Eshon Burgundy & Black Ice is really warm and DJ Jazzy Jeff’s signature voice is still very much present. The Definition feat. Kel Spencer is one of my favorite songs by DJ Jazzy Jeff. This track is nearly perfect if not perfect. Jeff n Fess feat. Rhymefest is the album’s biggest hit, I think. Practice feat. J Live can be hardly overrated by any means; this is what DJ Jazzy Jeff is all about. Supa Jean feat. Jean Grae had me crying as I was able to relate so well. When I listen to The Garden feat. Big Daddy Kane in my car when traffic ain’t going so good. Still going through The Return of the Magnificent and coming to appreciate She Was So Flyy feat. Kardinal Offishall more and more with every listen. Hold It Down feat. Method Man is the albums biggest surprise. Listening to All I Know feat. CL Smooth you can hear that DJ Jazzy Jeff has still amazing chemistry with band members. Go See The Doctor 2k7 feat. Twone Gabz - This one is what it is: a powerful, primal invitation to love. My Soul Ain’t For Sale feat. Raheem DeVaughn is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined. Come On feat. Dave Ghetto is possibly the most mysterious and inexplicable track DJ Jazzy Jeff ever produced. I have all of DJ Jazzy Jeff’s tracks and Brand New Funk 2k7 feat. Peedi Peedi is probably the most his introspective effort.
