sixteen years ago, Ghosts briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Musical Chairs”. Ghosts’s debut, ‘World Is Outside’, does not fit easily into one genre. Since Ghosts last CD (World Is Outside) on Blue Note Records back in 2007, I have felt a massive void in my life. World Is Outside touched my soul like nothing else.
Outside of the singles, my favorite song on World Is Outside is Musical Chairs. This track is almost perfect, instrumentals and vocals combine awesomely. The opening track Ghosts is very much like you would expect from other albums. Mind Games is a very catchy tune. Something Hilarious make listening to Ghosts like being in some sort of time warp. Stop is one of the best records ever. Over-Analysis is a fine track on any terms. Wrapped Up in Little Stars is a perfect song and it grows on you. Ghosts sings his heart out in Temporary. Further and Further Away is pretty funky and mellow.
