This is one of the best Cd’s The Blues Brothers has dropped to date. I am not a real Rock music type of person, but i have to admit ‘The Very Best of the Blues Brothers’ really is amazing. It has been five years The Blues Brothers’ last studio CD, “The Very Best of the Blues Brothers” which won Array Emmy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. Enjoy the show.
It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song. Peter Gunn Theme is a song that takes you on the journey before it reaches the conclusion. Minnie the Moocher (featuring Cab Calloway) is such a cool and optimistic song that things can get just better. You have to get essence of the Shot Gun Blues’s power, to truly understand this masterpiece. A fantastic track full of wonder. Closing: I can’t Turn you loose is perfect. ‘B’ Movie Box Car Blues is marvelous song though, very addictive. Gimme some Lovin’ as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. Awesome song is really all that you can say about it. After you’ve listened to Soul Man, most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate. Sweet Home Chicago is beautiful, yet underrated track. Hey Bartender is a strong cut, one of many. As always, The Blues Brothers’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. Soul Finger (including “Funky Broadway”) is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. This is one hell of a track. The Old Landmark (featuring James Brown) is, without a doubt, my favorite song, ever. This track is clearly meant to showcase The Blues Brothers’s vocal abilities. Shake your Tailfeather is a fine track on any terms. Messin’ with the kid is new, fresh, and hypnotizing. The Blues Brothers sings Theme from Rawhide in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. From the moment you listen to She caught the Katy you’re hooked.
