When you buy a Yves Montand album, you know exactly what you’re getting! IF YOU LIKE ALL Yves Montand’S SONG GO FOR IT! This album has some very good songs like Quand Un Soldat and Une Demoiselle Sur Une Balancoire. Smart music for smart people.
Still going through Concert A Moscou and coming to appreciate Une Demoiselle Sur Une Balancoire more and more with every listen. Car Je T’aime is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. Toi, Tu N’ressembles A Personne - To me, this is the best song on the Concert A Moscou. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. Yves Montand sings Les Routiers in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. After few listenings I started to like Les Cireurs De Souliers De Broadway more and more. Within the first few notes of A Paris it’s perfectly clear that Yves Montand is living this song. Les Feuilles Mortes - Check out that bassline! C’est Si Bon is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through Concert A Moscou. It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song. Planter Cafe is possibly the most mysterious and inexplicable track Yves Montand ever produced. This song may be the most meaningful. Mon Manege A Moi - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. Les Grands Boulevards I just LOVE this mix! Battling Joe is the song that really did it for me.
