There is no doubt that Oscar Peterson has talent. It has been two years Oscar Peterson’ last studio CD, “Motions and Emotions” which won Array MTV Music Awards and was nominated for album of the year. While no new Oscar Peterson album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1969 tour in Africa. This album is awesome.
SUNNY - My least favorite song on this album. Voice and instruments in BY THE TIME I GET TO PHOENIX complement each other. WANDERING - A nice song. THIS GUY’S IN LOVE WITH YOU to me is the best you can get from Oscar Peterson. WAWE is another favourite of mine. Album opener DREAMSVILLE is a bright, upbeat ditty. Awesome song is really all that you can say about it. ELEANOR RIGBY is a song that will not reduce you to tears but leave you thinking long after Motions and Emotions have ended. ODE TO BILLY JOE - A catchy, upbeat tune.
