‘Temptation Come My Way’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. The Showdown had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. There were many famous songs of The Showdown available. Smart music for smart people.
After you’ve listened to Head Down, most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate. Vocals of The Showdown in Six Feet Under really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm. We Die Young is the song that really did it for me. Breath of the Swamp is one of these floating songs. The opening track It Drinks from Me is very much like you would expect from other albums. In Temptation Come My Way it becomes nowhere more obvious that The Showdown has yet to define own style. First time I heard Forget My Name was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing.Spitting in the Wind rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo. This track is full of harmonies and gets Temptation Come My Way off to a relaxing start. Carry on Wayward Son - This one makes me want to not only sing along. Death Finds Us Breathing is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction.
