On the Belgium charts, superstar Judy Garland’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Judy Garland on ‘By Myself’. This disc has all of the essential Judy Garland classics. If I may, I suggest “By Myself”. That one song is amazing!
Little Girl Blue has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album. After about the third Me And My Shadow listen through, I began to believe this song is Judy Garland’s essence. Among My Souvenirs - For me, this is the best of the album. I Gotta Right To Sing The Blues has a fun tempo. I Get The Blues When It Rains one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. Mean To Me - To me, this is the best song on the Alone. If you are a Judy Garland fan, you will love How About Me?. This track is clearly meant to showcase Judy Garland’s vocal abilities. Blue Prelude is a good listen every once in a while. What sets Happy New Year apart is Judy Garland’s innovative and organic way of creating atmospheres. From the moment you listen to Then You’ve Never Been Blue [*] you’re hooked.
