It has been eleven years Natacha Atlas’ last studio CD, “Gedida” which won Array MTV Music Awards and was nominated for album of the year. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Natacha Atlas energies, virtually a rebirth. This album has some very good songs like Mon Amie La Rose and Aqaba. I Love Gedida from start to finish!
Aqaba great lyrics, dark, deep, angry and cool.Mistaneek - Natacha Atlas first major hit. Bahlam - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. Listening to Ezzay you can hear that Natacha Atlas has still amazing chemistry with band members. This is probably my favorite song on the album. I’ve found myself listening to The Rigtheous Path back to back and back many times. Mahlabeya is probably the highlight of the album. You have to get essence of the Bilaadi’s power, to truly understand this masterpiece. After you’ve listened to Kifaya, most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate. One Brief Moment sets the tone for the entire album.
