It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Sam Cooke energies, virtually a rebirth. This is one of the best Cd’s Sam Cooke has dropped to date. Since Sam Cooke last CD (The Man and His Music) on Columbia Records back in 0, I have felt a massive void in my life. The Man and His Music touched my soul like nothing else.
So much energy, so exciting a sound.Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. This track is nearly perfect if not perfect. It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener. Voice and instruments in Just For You complement each other. A great put together song. When A Boy Falls In Love is excellent and different song. Only Sixteen is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song. Wonderful World is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. I’ve found myself listening to Cupid back to back and back many times. Nothing Can Change This Love is a very catchy tune. Rome Wasn’t Built In A Day is absolutely incredible. This track is almost perfect, instrumentals and vocals combine awesomely. In Everybody Loves To Cha Cha Cha full palet of sound is used by Sam Cooke to accentuate the presentation. Another Saturday Night one is one of the better boring ones. Meet Me At Mary’s Place - To me, this is the best song on the The Man and His Music. No Sam Cooke song has come close to capturing my attention as Having A Party did. Good Times can be hardly overrated by any means; this is what Sam Cooke is all about. This is one hell of a track. Shake is a bit of a show-tune. Somebody Have Mercy is the albums biggest surprise. Sad Mood is one of these floating songs. Listening to Ain’t That Good News you can hear that Sam Cooke has still amazing chemistry with band members. Sam Cooke is hitting on all cylinders in Bring It Home To Me. Soothe Me hits the heart. Awesome song is really all that you can say about it. One of the songs that always stick in my mind is A Change Is Gonna Come because the melody in the chorus is so good.
