I am not a real Rock: Folk-Rock music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Greatest Hits’ really is amazing. The Mamas and The Papas’s debut, ‘Greatest Hits’, does not fit easily into one genre. ‘Greatest Hits’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. Unappreciated gift to Rock: Folk-Rock
I Saw Her Again Last Night one of the best in my collection. |titile| is quite refreshing and sets the tone for what is going on in Greatest Hits. Twist and Shout - This one is lively and fun. I love the melodic melody of Sing For Your Supper and to this day it makes me feel good. Look Through My Window is a gorgeous, simple song by The Mamas and The Papas at the top of his game. I find myself hearing bits of Do You Wanna Dance here and there throughout my waking hours. There is excellent mix of music in Dancing In The Street. |titile| is the kind of record that makes you remember why music can be so addictive. Dedicated To The One I Love is the song that really did it for me. |titile| is a sure sign of something most of us are experiencing, maturity. Words Of Love - A nice song. Glad To Be Unhappy is a bit of a show-tune. Simple and heartfelt closing track Go Where You Wanna Go closes Greatest Hits on a high note. Safe In My Garden the elegant and beautiful song on the album is hard to describe. Spanish Harlem one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. Song Trip, Stumble and Fall is actually a funny song. My Girl is almost impossible to review. Creeque Alley is The Mamas and The Papas’s best work in years. Dream A Little Dream Of Me - This one is what it is: a powerful, primal invitation to love.
