On Crooners album, Helmut Lotti have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. There is so much to love about Helmut Lotti, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. This album has some very good songs like Everybody loves Somebody and Im so lucky to sing. I greatly enjoyed this CD.
It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: Im so lucky to sing, which shows, blatantly, how much Helmut Lotti has evolved as a singer. As always, Helmut Lotti’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. The train of love rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo. I dont Know how to love you has a fun tempo. |titile| is quite refreshing and sets the tone for what is going on in Crooners. How could i ever forget you is a song that takes you on the journey before it reaches the conclusion. What a wonderful World to me is the best you can get from Helmut Lotti. This song stands out greatly from the others. I loved The most expensive girl the first time I heard it. Full speed agead is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with True Love ( duet with Isabelle Adam). This track is just a stunning masterpiece. Voice of Helmut Lotti in Theres a sparkle in your eyes ( duet with Hayley Westenra ) is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant. I wonder - A catchy, upbeat tune. Mona Lisa is really a nice song to relax and listen too. Helmut Lotti has astounded me with this amazing track. After few listenings I started to like Moon River more and more. Caterina is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. You will love again actually sounds so joyous, that you can practically see a smile on Helmut Lotti’s face. Smile is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. Stop looking in her eyes (1:52) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. After you’ve listened to Take it with a smile, most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate. Thatrs More one of the best in my collection.
