On The Feeding Of The 5000 album, Crass have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. When you buy a Crass album, you know exactly what you’re getting! There is so much to love about Crass, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. IT makes me wanna dance!
Don’t judge Do They Owe Us A Living? on the first listening. End Result gives taste of what makes Crass special as a musician. In They’ve Got A Bomb you won’t find any flashy solos. Punk Is Dead is probably the most interesting track on The Feeding Of The 5000. Reject Of Society is a great song for a cosy night in when it’s cold and wintry outside. This song is dynamic and dramatic. Banned From The Roxy - This one makes me want to not only sing along. A fantastic track full of wonder. Fight War, Not Wars is one of my favorite songs by Crass. Voice and instruments in Women complement each other. Musically Securicor is superior to other tracks in The Feeding Of The 5000. Sucks - This one is lively and fun. Charming song, great melody. From the sound of it, I believe the song can be a big radio hit. What A Shame is a striking and quite long song. I loved So What the first time I heard it. It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song.
