Loose Screw isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. It’s natural for The Pretenders to take a stab at ‘Lie To Me’ considering her long-professed love for Paul Oakenfold. This album has some very good songs like Lie To Me and Time. Smart music for smart people.
One of the songs that always stick in my mind is Time because the melody in the chorus is so good. You Know Who Your Friends Are had me crying as I was able to relate so well. Complex Person gets you up and jumping. I find myself hearing bits of Fools Must Die here and there throughout my waking hours. Kinda Nice, I Like It - another great track from the Loose Screw album. Nothing Breaks Like A Heart is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. I Should Of is a song to enjoy for years to come. Clean Up Woman as a highlight of Loose Screw contains a ton of cool melodies. The Losing catches attention immediately, Saving Grace is one of the coolest songs The Pretenders has ever recorded. When I listen to Walk Like A Panther in my car when traffic ain’t going so good.
