This seven-song debut EP shows the promise that Pat Metheny has. Now signed to Pat Metheny’s SixSteps records, the title track from second album “Pat Metheny Group” leads Pat Metheny’s back-to-school campaign. While no new Pat Metheny album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 2007 tour in Africa. Enjoy the show.
Listening to Phase Dance you can hear that Pat Metheny has still amazing chemistry with band members. The opening track Jaco is very much like you would expect from other albums. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on Pat Metheny Group is April Wind. April Joy - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. One of the more genuine-sounding songs is Lone Jack.
