Merle Haggard Down Every Road (CD 4) MP3

Merle Haggard Down Every Road (CD 4) imageOn Down Every Road (CD 4) album, Merle Haggard have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. Down Every Road (CD 4) carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. It’s natural for Merle Haggard to take a stab at ‘If We’re Not Back In Love By Monday’ considering her long-professed love for Paul Oakenfold. If I may, I suggest “If We’re Not Back In Love By Monday”. That one song is amazing!

Ramblin’ Fever is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit. The sound in It’s Been A Great Afternoon is really warm and Merle Haggard’s signature voice is still very much present. Red Bandana is probably one of Merle Haggard’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. This song has very few things relative to that of it’s predecessor. My Own Kind Of Hat is the most memorable and gorgeous. A great put together song. Leonard is astounding. I Think I’ll Just Stay Here and Drink is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day. Some call Rainbow Stew from Down Every Road (CD 4) as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. Big City had me crying as I was able to relate so well. Are The Good Times Really Over is a strong cut, one of many. You Take Me For Granted is a great opener for Down Every Road (CD 4). Pancho and Lefty is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. Someday When Things Are Good is one of the best records ever. Let’s Chase Each Other Around The Room is the album’s biggest hit, I think. Kern River is really the reason why I recommend buying Down Every Road (CD 4). Twinkle, Twinkle Lucky Star the elegant and beautiful song on the album is hard to describe. In My Next Life is a song that will not reduce you to tears but leave you thinking long after Down Every Road (CD 4) have ended.
