I am not a real R&B: Soul music type of person, but i have to admit ‘The Best Of’ really is amazing. five years ago, Roberta Flack briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “The Closer I Get To You”. There is so much to love about Roberta Flack, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. Oh yes, this album gets Array out of Array
The Closer I Get To You has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Roberta Flack’s strong vocals come to the fore. You’ve Got A Friend pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. Feel Like Makin’ Love (2:54) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow is simply cool. Where Is The Love - To me, this is the best song on the The Best Of. The sound of The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. Back Together Again I just LOVE this mix! You Are My Heaven which is my favorite is a truly Roberta Flack sounding song. If Ever I See You Again is one of the more up-tempo songs on The Best Of. After about the third Jesse listen through, I began to believe this song is Roberta Flack’s essence.
