There is no doubt that Stan Getz has talent. I am not a real Jazz music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Jazz Masters 53′ really is amazing. Since completing 0’s ‘Corcovado (Quiet Nights Of Quiet Stars)’, Stan Getz fulfilled their contract with ForeFront Records and where under no obligation to release another album. Smart music for smart people.
In Menina Moca (Young Lady) it becomes nowhere more obvious that Stan Getz has yet to define own style. So Danso Samba (I Only Dance Samba) is a striking and quite long song. Excellent vocals and musical performances. Vock Eu is an underrated song: I like its lyrics and melody a lot. One Note Samba is a very catchy tune. Doralice is the albums biggest surprise. Insensatez (How Insensitive) makes a person feel cool. Chega De Saudade (No More Blues) is a amazing sing-along. Only Trust Your Heart is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song. O Grande Amor is the more seemingly obscure song on Jazz Masters 53 that bear up best to repeated listening. Winter Moon pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. Menina Flor is the most memorable and exquisite. Samba Triste is a bit of a show-tune. Desafinado without a doubt is the standout song of Jazz Masters 53. This track is full of harmonies and gets Jazz Masters 53 off to a relaxing start.
