Stan Getz’s debut, ‘The Bossa Nova Years (Girl from Ipanema) CD1′, does not fit easily into one genre. Jim Jones has compared writing for Stan Getz’s new album to that on ‘The Bossa Nova Years (Girl from Ipanema) CD1′ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. On the Turkey charts, superstar Stan Getz’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. This is one of Stan Getz best albums
Samba Dees Days is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. Samba Triste is Stan Getz’s best work in years. Stan Getz sings his heart out in One Note Samba. From the sound of it, I believe the song can be a big radio hit. Baia has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. Manha de Carnaval (Morning of the Carnival) [From Black Orpheus] is one of these floating songs. Balanco No Samba (Street Dance) is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day. Melancolico [Melancholy Melody] has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Stan Getz’s strong vocals come to the fore. Entre Amigos (Sympathy Between Friends) is just simply stunning. Chega de Saudade (No More Blues) is outstanding work of Stan Getz. Noite Triste (Night Sadness) is probably the highlight of the album. This track is just fantastic from start to finish. Bim Bom is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song.
