Gheorghe Zamfir had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. I am not a real New Age music type of person, but i have to admit ‘The Lonely Shepherd’ really is amazing. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Gheorghe Zamfir’s album The Lonely Shepherd falls to No. 2 with 305,000, a sales slide of 89%. Unappreciated gift to New Age
Strong, powerful vocals of Gheorghe Zamfir in Romance are very impressive. Opening track Sicilienne shows the best of Gheorghe Zamfir. Adagio presents the cool mix of instruments on The Lonely Shepherd. Charming song, great melody. Allegro - Gheorghe Zamfir first major hit. Andante can be hardly overrated by any means; this is what Gheorghe Zamfir is all about. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on The Lonely Shepherd is Air. Summer Of ‘42 has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Gheorghe Zamfir’s strong vocals come to the fore. The first time I listened to The Lonely Shepherd I was struck by its exquisite sound. Still going through The Lonely Shepherd and coming to appreciate Winter (The Four Seasons) more and more with every listen. Get The Lonely Shepherd and turn on Traumerei if you are going to sip your wine late at night. Awesome song is really all that you can say about it. ‘o Mio Babbino Caro’ is outstanding work of Gheorghe Zamfir. ‘addio Del Passato’ is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song. A great put together song. No Gheorghe Zamfir song has come close to capturing my attention as ‘donna Non Vidi Mai’ did. Theme From ‘limelight’ is the albums biggest surprise. ‘don’t Cry For Me, Argentina’ is a great opener for The Lonely Shepherd.
