one years ago, Bill Conti briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Philadelphia Morning”. This is the first studio album from Bill Conti since bad diagnosis in 1976. Since Bill Conti last CD (Rocky 1) on Blue Note Records back in 1976, I have felt a massive void in my life. I greatly enjoyed this CD.
Get Rocky 1 and turn on Philadelphia Morning if you are going to sip your wine late at night. Going The Distance great lyrics, dark, deep, angry and cool.This track is just a stunning masterpiece. Although Marines’ Hymn/Yankee Doodle is very melodic it is far from sad. Take You Back is a very catchy tune. First Date is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. You Take My Heart Away makes a person feel astounding. A unique and uplifting song. I can’t stop humming along Butkus. The song feels complete. This track is a great song that still never gets old. Excellent vocals and musical performances.
