Self-described as Chanson with lots of words, Michel Sardou comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. While no new Michel Sardou album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1973 tour in Africa. Since completing 1973’s ‘Zombi Dupont’, Michel Sardou fulfilled their contract with Columbia Records and where under no obligation to release another album. This album is in perfect progression from Michel Sardou!
Les vieux maries is simple, dignified and effective, Michel Sardou refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. Tu es Pierre - Okay, I just talked about depth. Les villes de solitude gives taste of what makes Michel Sardou special as a musician. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on Integrale (1973). This track is a great song that still never gets old. As always, Michel Sardou’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. Hallyday (le phenix) - I like this one. La maladie d’amour - A catchy, upbeat tune. Tuez-moi - another great track from the Integrale (1973) album. La marche en avant is probably one of Michel Sardou’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to.
