Lead single “Romeo” and “Bye bye mon amour” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. This is one of the best Cd’s Petula Clark has dropped to date. ‘Hello Paris - Anthologie Vol 1′ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. This is my first Petula Clark Album and i must say i am blown away.
This track, in particular, has the kind of undeniably catchy flavor. This is probably my favorite song on the album. Pardon pour notre amour has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album. Parce que c’est bon - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody. London - arguably the best track on Hello Paris - Anthologie Vol 1 album. In Ya ya twist the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. One of the songs that always stick in my mind is Jolie because the melody in the chorus is so good. Hello Paris - Anthologie Vol 1 couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Si c’est oui c’est oui. Lyrics of Les Bourgainvillees are precise and evocative. Calendar Girl can be hardly overrated by any means; this is what Petula Clark is all about. Il est a toi mon coeur defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. If you are a Petula Clark fan, you will love Chariot. This track is almost perfect, instrumentals and vocals combine awesomely. Les chants de l’ete is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. Les colimaons is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day. I listened to the opening track Dans le train de la nuit and liked it a lot. Album opener Claquez vos doigts is a bright, upbeat ditty. You can find feelings on this piece of art. L’enfant do gives taste of what makes Petula Clark special as a musician. Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think Chanson d’rgentine is my favorite song on Hello Paris - Anthologie Vol 1. When listening to Vilaine fille, mauvais garon, it gives me such an energy rush it’s unbelievable. Overall a nice softer song. Darling cheri as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature.
