On the Finland charts, superstar Pussycat’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. ‘Souvenirs’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. On Souvenirs album, Pussycat have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. Cool, but I like their other actual stuff better like Souvenirs.
Opening track Dont Play Casanova shows the best of Pussycat. Once you hear Get Ig Hither, you will listen to it over and over. This track is a great song that still never gets old. This track is almost perfect, instrumentals and vocals combine awesomely. Ill Be Your Woman - A catchy, upbeat tune. My Broken Souvenirs as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. Nothing To Hide - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody. One For The Ladi as a highlight of Souvenirs contains a ton of exquisite melodies. Smile - Well, here we get a bit more meaning. The sound in Someday is really warm and Pussycat’s signature voice is still very much present. Although The Easy Way is very melodic it is far from sad. Pussycat breathes new life into the music in You Dont Know.
